Submissions Period

• We accept unsolicited submissions of work in all genres year-round.

• We aim to respond within three months, but ask that you do not query about your submission until three months have passed.

• Please wait until you've heard from us regarding a submission before submitting additional work.

Guidelines

General Submission Guidelines:

To submit:

• Email your submission in a single document to theammonitereview@gmail.com

• Use .doc or .docx format.

• Use the subject line: “Last Name_First Name GENRE Submission”

• Include a cover letter and third-person bio in the body of the email.

• Only submit once per reading period.

• Any submissions that do not follow these guidelines will be discarded.

We accept simultaneous submissions as long as you notify us if the piece is accepted elsewhere.We do not accept reprints.

Upon acceptance, you must withdraw your work from other consideration.

Poetry

Send up to 5 poems (not to exceed 15 total pages), and use a 12-point font.

Fiction and Nonfiction

For prose, submit one story or essay. (You may submit both a story and an essay if you wish; please submit them separately.) It is unlikely that we will publish work that is longer than 10,000 words, though we will consider it.

Reviews/Criticism

We accept reviews of novels, short story collections, poetry collections, memoir, and essay collections. We give preference to reviews that focus on recent titles (published within the last year and/or are forthcoming). Please be sure to include the publisher, page count, and date of the book release.
